Impact on the Environment

Internationally, huge emphasis is being placed on lifestyles that impact negatively on the environment. Although this emphasis is not as prominent in South Africa as yet, most people are aware of factors such as Global Warming, Water Pollution, Deforestation, Decline in Food Production and the Explosion of Urbanization.

Traditional building methods and materials not only leave permanent scarring on the environment but also are rapidly increasing the depletion of non-renewable natural resources. These factors are more likely to negatively impact the world’s developing areas, of which Africa is but one.

It is therefore imperative for us to adopt alternative building technologies and materials that will have a minimal impact on environmental factors and can be manufactured from recycled waste products.

These solutions, coupled with the decreased dependence on Local, Provincial and National Government to deliver housing and ancillary services, create an ideal platform for our products to become entrenched as industry leaders in environmentally friendly housing.

Although our philosophy is relatively new to South Africa, it has been implemented with great success in other developing areas of the world such as Asia, Eastern Europe and the Caucuses, with the development of entire villages, towns and industrial parks that have very little impact on the natural resources of those areas.
Impact on Quality

Due to the fact that all the required components are precision-manufactured in a factory, using precise machinery and according to professionally specified architectural drawings, every unit assembled will be of the same high quality, irrespective of the fact that we do so in a fraction of the time it takes to build a home using traditional materials, labour and technology.
Impact on Delivery

Following on from the previous paragraph, our technology enables a house to be fully erected and ready in a turnaround time for occupation that far exceeds current levels, 6 to 10 days days, as opposed to an average turnaround time of 3 months for the completion of a similar sized building, using traditional building methodology and materials.
Impact on the Economy

Home ownership anywhere in the world, represents an individual’s largest single investment, as well as their largest single liability. This coupled to the fact that most economies are based on real estate value, leave both the individual as well as national economies vulnerable to unexpected market fluctuations. Evidence of this, is the current “sub prime” problem which places serious economic strain on both well developed and developing economies.

These issues raise serious questions as to the affordability and accessibility of technologically advanced, high quality housing for the broadest spectrum of incumbent homeowners.

More affordable housing places incumbent homeowners in a position to inject more disposable income into local and national economies, thus stimulating such economies.

Our pricing structure enables us to offer most consumers affordable yet technologically advanced housing solutions coupled with the flexibility to cater for both increasing as well as decreasing needs that may surface with time.
Impact on Skills Shortage

Most developing countries, including South Africa are seriously affected by severe skills shortages. Trained and experienced personnel are constantly being lured to highly developed countries as well as other developing countries by larger wages and higher standards of living.

Our manufacturing process, modular designs, quality control procedures, adherence to the standards demanded by organizations such as NHBRC and the South African Bureau of Standards and product packaging in a D.I.Y. format, greatly reduce the dependence on skilled artisans and labourers to erect our products.

Should it be required, we would train the local workforce in the assembly of our units.
